Read moreMy Favorite Financial Advice
It's the one advice that helped me feel secure about my future. The concept is simple. First, create multiple savings accounts. This can come in the form of retirement, investment and general bank savings accounts. From there, split out the bank savings accounts into specific short-term and long-term goals. This may mean having a saving accounts for Iceland 2017, Weddings 2018, and Vacations All Year Round. It's about planning ahead. The key to funding these successfully is to automate it all. Before even any of your paycheck touches your bank account, money is streamed into separate accounts and what your left with is money for your basic needs and some for luxury.

When was the last time you truly felt hungry?
In the same way that waste is due to our chronic consumption, many of life threatening diseases in today's society is also due to our chronic consumption. The problem for many of us is that we never feel hunger. When was the last time you truly felt hungry? Probably never. For many of us living in the western world, food is accessible, regardless of whether it's determined as good or bad, food products are everywhere. This abundance means that our bodies adapt to being constantly fed and full. Think about your daily commute. How many restaurants do you see? How many opportunities to you see to purchase and get food? It's endless!

Read moreWhy Zero Waste Is Not Possible and Why We Still Have to Do It
Is zero waste possible?
To live a life at 100% zero waste as defined by nature is difficult to achieve. We live in a linear economy and our economic growth is tied to consumption. The challenge with this is that we must create something new to ensure our economy prospers. In "Outsmart Waste" by Tom Szaky, he goes through a great explanation of why waste occurs. Waste is a human creation and a human problem. In nature, there is no such thing as waste.

Sleep is a time machine to breakfast. Who doesn't like that?

Read moreToo Many Choices Is Making Us Unhappy: Here's How to Solve That
How many decisions do you make in a day? Do those choices contribute to your happiness?
I've been doing #project333 for over 3 weeks now and I keep going back to this concept of the paradox of choice. When I had to choose the 33 clothing items to keep for the 3 month experiment, it was a bit overwhelming. There was a lot of what-ifs. What if I needed this skirt to go to some unnamed event, what if these jeans I've chosen will not fit me later on. Today, when I get dressed, I don't look at a closet full of stuff, instead I look at a few key pieces selected by me from my existing set of clothes. Each one fits well. Each one can be mixed and matched with the other.

I did not set out to live a plastic free life. I was just tired of having half empty water bottles at home from a bad habit I had of bringing one to the gym and only consuming half of it. I would bring the bottle back and it would sit on the table half empty. In addition, every time I had to take out our recycling bin to the curb, I would get frustrated because any whisper of a wind would send empty bottles flying down the street in addition to our bin being completely full of plastic water bottles that there was no room for other recyclables.

Microbes are good for us. Did you know that?
I've been reading and posting a lot about microbes because I believe that it's now one of the most important thing there is about our health. We will find a good amount of research about what this kind of food does this and that, but what's come to light in the past few years is that we have been destroying an important aspect of our body, our microbiome. There's a lot of new research that's found that the use of broad spectrum antibiotics to treat anything and everything, the use of antibiotics in our food and new medical procedures is causing and leading to a new kind of illnesses and diseases. Read more about that here.
